So today, there's a little bit of a different post. Instead of a review, I'll discuss what you can expect on the blog until the end of the year!
1. Christmas
Yes, it's almost Christmas and yes, I LOVE CHRISTMAS. So, like last year, there will be Christmas reviews on the blog again. This year, I decided on the Penguin Christmas Classics: six christmas stories collected in beautiful matching editions.
I'll read all of them, except a Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. I read (and loved) that one last year, so I'm not sure that I'll get around to it this year, because there's more reading than just Christmas reading...
2. The Costa Book Awards
Last week, the famous Costa Book Awards shortlist was announced and I was immediately drawn to the Costa Novel Shortlist. If you read this blog more regularly, you'll know that this year has been the year that I've been trying to branch out from YA to other literary genres. While I'm getting a grasp on the classics, I must confess that contemporary fiction often overwhelms me - there's just so much selection. That's why the four books on the shortlist seemed like a great idea. They all vary in topics so much that it's bound to give me, and hopefully you too, an idea of what's out there in the literary world.
So, for the first time ever, I present a blog schedule. This way it is easy for you guys to know when to check the blog, even in this really busy time of year. (The Goodreads link is given for every book, so you can read what it's about and know if you'll be interested to find out more!) Basically, every Thursday will be Christmas reviews and every Monday will be dedicated to the Costa Book Awards.
